Abatement by Encasement: Safeguarding People while Saving MoneyTM

Fort Hale Park – New Haven, CT

Case History

Property:

Fort Hale Park

Location:

New Haven, CT

Challenge:

Addressing 8,000 square feet of Lead-Based Paint (LBP) with minimum scraping and removal as this busy park is close to an apartment complex near the New Haven Harbor.Changing colors from all brown, while staying within budgets.

Solution:

The SAFE Encasement System allowed the work to be performed in a timely manner while addressing the LBP conditions and not creating any additional environmental concerns to the land, housing or water areas. SE-110 Penetrating-Stabilizer was used to “lock down” any damaged areas, and then SE-151 was used to repair holes. SE-120 Protective-Skin topcoat covered the brown while giving the ability to match 5 colors, including three greens, a beige and Mexican red.
